Dane grew up on a farm in northern Iowa. He graduated from the University of Iowa with honors in 2008. He received a law degree from Valparaiso University in 2011, graduating with honors and serving as an Associate Editor of the school's law review.
After getting valuable litigation experience at a firm in Indiana, Dane returned to Des Moines in 2013 to launch a career in civil litigation and government affairs in the Iowa Statehouse. He has represented individuals, businesses and other groups both in court and at the Statehouse. He has a diverse portfolio of prior clients who can speak to his advocacy and effectiveness. Dane's experience as a member of the Capitol's caucus staff and nearly ten years as a lobbyist make him particularly effective at navigating the legislative process for others.
